Earlier that weekend, we tried blueberries for the first time -- an unmitigated hit, start to finish. Milo is now the daintiest blueberry eater ever -- he holds each one carefully and takes tiny bites of it (as if it were an apple).
Grampa had a birthday, and he and Papi invited Milo and mama to join them at Sea Ranch for the weekend--a totally spectacular weekend, in which many happy naps were had by baby and mama, walks were taken, skunks narrowly avoided, jackrabbits admired, deer greeted, and waves witnessed for the first time by young Mr. Milo. Oh, and there was a massive bowl of birthday trifle consumed, in large part by yours truly. That Papi makes a mean trifle.
I adore the last picture, of Milo and his Papi -- isn't that sweet?
Stay tuned: Next weekend, Grammy visits! We are VERY excited -- Milo will get lots of cuddle time with Grammy, and mama has been enthusiastically encouraged to get out of the house and go find a life for herself while the babysitting is free (mama wasted no time, and is now looking forward to a 90-minute massage and perhaps some shoe-shopping). Mama is also going to take the opportunity to really finish babyproofing. Milo is crawling now and pulling up on everything in sight, and getting into drawers and pulling alarm clocks down on his head -- all that half-assed babyproofing that mama did earlier is just that, she now realizes...
